Seeing the works up close you cannot help but be struck by the intricate detail that goes into these pieces of art. Unlike many other pieces of art, the sculptures are living works. Once completed, they require ongoing maintenance, especially due to weather changes such as snow, rain, rising temperatures, for the duration of the competition.
